What an inspiring article! Thanks a lot, Steve. I can subscribe to it all. Of course, I am highly biased after five start-ups and also some corporate experience.

There are two things I have experienced and many other founders have shared them with me:

It is not only the case that large companies undervalue entrepreneurial abilities, they often don’t value them at all. It is a blind spot in the requirement profiles. What people with high entrepreneurial competences can contribute is not even seen. Fortunately, this seems to have changed to some extent in recent years.

Steve, you wrote “I love risk.” Actually, I don’t. Many other founders told me that they feel the same way. The thing that seems to distinguish us from others is that we are much better at taking risks and we seem to be more creative in finding a way out of risky situations. If we were not — ok, then we need to fall back to a corporate carreer —forced to be a lemon.
